Secondary Glazing FAQ’s

Does Secondary Glazing actually work?

Secondary glazing is an excellent, cost effective way of reducing the amount of external noise entering your home through your current windows. This simple and cost-effective treatment can increase sound insulation. This means your home will be quieter and you will sleep more peacefully. In other words, yes, it does work! Secondary glazing is also extremely effective for thermal retention and draught exclusion.

Does Secondary Glazing add value to my house?

Secondary glazing can greatly increase your home's value. If your home is older and not performing well, it may be worth considering investing in new glazing options. This will increase its appeal to potential buyers as well as allow it to sell at a higher price. Selling a property that is quiet and warm adds to the appeal.

If my Secondary Glazing breaks, who can fix it?

The Glazier who installed your secondary glazing should have a well-documented warranty on their work. Meaning they should be able to fix it for you. We here at City Sound proud ourselves on our craftmanship as well as the quality of our products, if any problems arise, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Secondary Glazing for Listed Buildings Parsons Green

A building listed under the law is protected and Listed Building Permission may need to be obtained before any modifications can be made. Not all repairs will require consent. Please get in touch with your local authority and make enquiries as to whether you need permission to install secondary glazing.

Sash Windows (Vertical sliding) Parsons Green

Sash windows, also known as “Vertical sliding windows”, are the most popular window type. Secondary glazing sash windows are also very popular.

Our sash windows consist of two panels, one at the top and one at the bottom. They are counter balanced with pre-tensioned springs that hold the panels’ weight. The window can be opened in any direction and the panels can be operated easily.

Horizontal Sliding Windows Parsons Green

Horizontal sliding windows, which can be made side to side, are the most versatile style. They can be manufactured with either 2, 3, or 4 sliding panels. This type of secondary glazing matches perfectly with Crittal windows. Individual sliding panels can slide effortlessly, providing unimpeded access to external windows.

All of our windows sections are made from aluminium and powder-coated white. You can customize frames to match your decor with a different colour or finish.

Fixed Lift Out Parsons Green

Fixed lift out windows are an alternative to screw-fixed units. They have a removable glass panel that can be lifted from the master frame and accessed through the external windows.

This type of window is used for external windows that are rarely used, or in offices with air conditioning where cleaning between windows is necessary.

Casement (Hinged) Secondary Glazing Parsons Green

Our hinged (casement) windows can be side- or top-hung. This design allows easy access to outer windows or doors.

This type of window is popular in hospitals, surgery rooms, and laboratories because it has minimal dust ledges, tight seals, and is easy to clean.

Small village feel with cute bakeries and boutiques but very close to Oxford Street and also easy access to the rolling hills of Surrey. Lovely place to live.

Great little green with majestic, mature trees and enough open space for dogs to run around. Well kept and near to a number of pubs and restaurants

🥰Lovely. It's perfect to go with the kids to play ball, and for people who have dogs too. There are some people without empathy who do not resort to the excretion of their pets, so children who play unfortunately have to be careful, but in general great place and quite tranquil is relaxing. Note: There were several couples also I think it is because it is quiet. 😊

This mosque and Islamic centre is an oasis for the discerning traveller, an island fortified by Parsons Green tube station, on on side, Chelsea tractors on the other three bordering roads and yet it retains it's own cultural ambience. Traverse, if you will, the magnificent prayer hall; simple yet alive with the recitation of Qur'an and populated by people of all hues and colours at prayer time. There is a lecture theatre, gymnasium, a full school, offices, bookshop with a few sweets and other goodies thrown in, and Middle Eastern culinary dishes abound in the basement cafeteria/restaurant. Parking is a no no, so tube or street parking after hours, or bicycle, is advisable. There are scholars who attend these premises, and it is especially a good time to attend the evening prayers, often with a class between the twain, or Friday or Eid prayers. Kids are very welcome, and of course there is a ladies mosque attached to the centre.

Delightful almost village like tube station. Very narrow exit and entrance. No idea what it would be like at busy times. Stair access to the platforms quite steep with two levels to climb by the reward is a broad platform with nice seats. It has a charming old clock and possibly would benefit from adding a couple of framed vintage London transport posters.

I recently alighted at Parsons Green for the first time to visit an acquaintance and was initially most taken by how charming it is with the most helpful staff on duty; so why you may ask the ONE STAR RATING. Well, upon leaving the station this illusion was quickly shattered by the fact that there were 2 individuals (from shall we say an over-represented demographic) blatantly dealing drugs within 20 feet of the main entrance. A very sad state of affairs indeed given that recent events should at least warrant a visible police presence to act as some form of deterrent.

Today I was invited to come into such a welcoming, relaxed and comforting nursery where my granddaughter had started her work as an apprentice. To be able to be offered to read a story to the children in the room that my granddaughter works in was an honour. I am amazed with everything, the young children listened so well and the nursery had such a warming feel to it. My granddaughter has been so happy since starting her work here and today it was clear to see why and how she has come so far. Most of all, to take part in a celebration for the elderly was very nice and I felt so appreciated. Thank you Mr Daniel and Miss Lacey for creating these special moments and inviting me to such a wonderful nursery and be apart of this wonderful celebration.

Our son has just had his last day at nursery and will be starting reception in a few weeks and we also have a daughter going into Prep. They both have been at Parsons Green Nursery from 9 months old in the Baby Room. We have been so impressed with the staff at the nursery it is hard to express in a few words. The staff genuinely love the children and they’ve nurtured my two to become the little people that many praise them to be. Miss Lacey, Mr Daniel (and many others) have been constant figures at the nursery and go above and beyond to try and keep the children happy. They know every child and try to bring out their best qualities by tailoring the way they teach them to match their personalities. Their patience is admirable and I often wish I had as much energy and enthusiasm as the do every day. We feel extremely lucky that our daughter gets to have the same teachers as we know that there could be no better than what we have at Parsons Green Nursery.

My daughter attended Parsons Green Nursery for almost 2 years and it is a brilliant, well run nursery. Mr Daniel is a superb manager who knows each child in incredible detail and my daughter benefited tremendously from his leadership. Each teacher at the nursery is highly capable which accelerated my daughter's development, with Miss Lacey and Miss Chelsea being 2 of her favourites. I will also always be grateful to the owner Miss Camilla and the many excellent decisions made and procedures implemented as she navigated the challenging and forever changing Covid environment and I would highly recommend this nursery to others.

Our experience with Chestertons was great. We were very impressed from the beginning to the end. No sugar coating like some other agents might do. Very professional and helpful with our sale. Viewings were arranged with serious buyers and handled very smoothly. Our sale with Grace M and the team was handled very professionally. Would definitely use their service again in the future and recommend to our friends.

I’ve had interactions with almost every estate agent company in London at some point over the past 15 years. None have ever come close to the standard & quality of Chestertons on the New Kings Road. We had struggled to sell our property for a long time, and had dealt with some different estate agent companies. Each company gave a lot of promises up front in order to get the property listed, then clearly struggled to fulil those promises, never appearing honest in our dealings, & quickly lost interest. Then we contacted Chestertons on the New King’s Road, the team were incredible - head & shoulders above any I’ve ever worked with. Immediately there was honesty, none of the stereotypical BS that often gets associated with estate agents. Hugely knowledgeable, and honest from our first conversation. Once we listed the property with them, we genuinely felt that we had somebody partnering with us, on our side, doing the best they could to get us the sale they needed. Their service was outstanding throughout in all our interactions, second to none, as was their knowledge and expertise of the local market. We also noticed a big difference in the number of viewing they could get versus others, because they have such a big footprint in Fulham. All this from a team of people who didn’t just prove themselves to be real experts in their field, they were good, professional, nice people who were a pleasure to work with. It’s a team brilliantly led by Glynn who runs the office & clearly brilliantly leads the standards for all his team. The best thing we done, was reach out to him in the first place. This is the first review we’ve ever written. We felt we needed to as they were so good. And also to anyone in the Fulham area who is considering buying or selling a property, they are head and shoulders above the rest. Trust us, we’ve dealt with them all!

With our current tenancy coming to an end, it’s the best time to provide an end-to-end review of the Parsons Green office; and they have been nothing short of fantastic in my opinion. From the very beginning, not only was the level of service from Fiona D. professional, but also exceptionally personal and helpful to a humbling extent – thank you again. I’d highly recommend this agent to anyone in need of their services.

Really lovely nursery on Lilyville road with a real family feel. My daughter blossomed and loved going to nursery- even when her older sister was on holiday! Facilities are great for a London based nursery and there are extra-curricular activities every day. Daily communication and photos of what the class had been up to. Would definitely recommend it!

My son loved his time in the nursery class. Top tip: it was a struggle getting him in - register as soon as you are pregnant! The best bit is the Famly app - it’s incredible to see what they are doing all day, we loved it. The staff were all great, experienced and caring. Would definitely recommend.

Parsons Green Nursery is the most magical place. We are heartbroken to be saying goodbye after nearly 3 years there. It’s been a lovely experience from start to finish. It’s headed by an ultra solid management with a clear vision and ethos, which is a real strength, as is its loving and enthusiastic teachers. We’ve been amazed by the range of creativity in their activities and how much fun the children are having. From messy play to regular music sessions, cooking, focusing on nature. It’s really just stunning and we will miss every part of it!

Great choice of real ales (they also have a huge choice of "craft" and other fizzy beers). Seemed popular for food in the late afternoon, especially the pies. Good to sit out by the Green and watch the world go by. A lot of waterproof covers over the outside tables which was necessary for a while when we were there. At the obvious peak times in this pub it would be a good idea to book, especially if you want to be outside, as I saw a lot of time based reserved signs come out for the evening.
