Secondary Glazing FAQ’s

Does Secondary Glazing actually work?

Secondary glazing is an excellent, cost effective way of reducing the amount of external noise entering your home through your current windows. This simple and cost-effective treatment can increase sound insulation. This means your home will be quieter and you will sleep more peacefully. In other words, yes, it does work! Secondary glazing is also extremely effective for thermal retention and draught exclusion.

Does Secondary Glazing add value to my house?

Secondary glazing can greatly increase your home's value. If your home is older and not performing well, it may be worth considering investing in new glazing options. This will increase its appeal to potential buyers as well as allow it to sell at a higher price. Selling a property that is quiet and warm adds to the appeal.

If my Secondary Glazing breaks, who can fix it?

The Glazier who installed your secondary glazing should have a well-documented warranty on their work. Meaning they should be able to fix it for you. We here at City Sound proud ourselves on our craftmanship as well as the quality of our products, if any problems arise, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Secondary Glazing for Listed Buildings Hammersmith

A building listed under the law is protected and Listed Building Permission may need to be obtained before any modifications can be made. Not all repairs will require consent. Please get in touch with your local authority and make enquiries as to whether you need permission to install secondary glazing.

Sash Windows (Vertical sliding) Hammersmith

Sash windows, also known as “Vertical sliding windows”, are the most popular window type. Secondary glazing sash windows are also very popular.

Our sash windows consist of two panels, one at the top and one at the bottom. They are counter balanced with pre-tensioned springs that hold the panels’ weight. The window can be opened in any direction and the panels can be operated easily.

Horizontal Sliding Windows Hammersmith

Horizontal sliding windows, which can be made side to side, are the most versatile style. They can be manufactured with either 2, 3, or 4 sliding panels. This type of secondary glazing matches perfectly with Crittal windows. Individual sliding panels can slide effortlessly, providing unimpeded access to external windows.

All of our windows sections are made from aluminium and powder-coated white. You can customize frames to match your decor with a different colour or finish.

Fixed Lift Out Hammersmith

Fixed lift out windows are an alternative to screw-fixed units. They have a removable glass panel that can be lifted from the master frame and accessed through the external windows.

This type of window is used for external windows that are rarely used, or in offices with air conditioning where cleaning between windows is necessary.

Casement (Hinged) Secondary Glazing Hammersmith

Our hinged (casement) windows can be side- or top-hung. This design allows easy access to outer windows or doors.

This type of window is popular in hospitals, surgery rooms, and laboratories because it has minimal dust ledges, tight seals, and is easy to clean.

Although the queue was super long outside (Mo Gilligan Show) it moved quickly and there were several entry points. The venue was quite clean overall and the toilets were in a decent condition. Bar staff were polite and professional, drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. The seats themselves are relatively comfortable for people of average width and height, if you are a person of size or taller then I think you may be a little less comfortable.

Amazing place. Easy to get to, in a nice location. Very accessible toilets and bars inside the venue. We had a lot of fun on Russel Howard's show. Fantastic.

Loved it but queueing! Well I say that but it went pretty well. My advice would be get there very early for your tickets and then go for a drink/meal. Prices inside for alcohol looked a bit high but then how often do we go to London ! The tap water was great supplied by a security guard taking pity on the wife. Thanks whoever you were.🤗

Wonderful theatre. Signage is a mess though. Inside and out. Finding the entrance to the theatre was a challenge. Once you find the ticket office you just hope the stairs will lead you to the theatre (only to find a pub). Had to ask people there where the theatre was and was pointed to a staircase. At the top my ticket was scanned and though I found the theare. Only landed in a corridor with locked doors and a fire escape. Had to turn around for help again. But apart from that, the Lyric theatre put on incredible plays and show.

Terrible place I was. A contractor there in the 80s the staff were awful people on the 1st floor always running people down and telling tales on each other.. The worst culprits was a tea lady called marie on the first floor and also a nurse called Elaine also on the first floor so nice to your face ut once your backs turned they run you down I've never met 2 nastier women since so be aware if there still there keep your distance.

My Mother was hit by a 'carer' in this home, Nazareth House undermined the Police Investigation and as a result a prosecution was not viable. The 'carer' was dismissed but was still allowed to access the home after the assault. When I discovered the cover up, my MP got involved which led to the LBH&F placing an embargo on the home. One of the outcomes of the wider provider concerns process was to convene monthly Joint Operational Group Meetings with Nazareth House. These multiagency meetings which include colleagues from across commissioning and safeguarding from both the Council, CCG and CQC are also involved in these meeting and the purpose of these meetings is to continue to monitor the quality and performance of care being delivered to residents in Nazareth House. Camden have now confirmed that they will not be placing anyone in this home. On 25th February 2020, CQC fined Nazareth Care £1250 for failing to comply the (Registration) Regulations. The fines were an alternative to prosecution. I am happy for Nazareth House to challenge me on anything I have written. Please do not place your loved one in this home Unfortunately, I have to give 1 star for this to be published

The manager is appalling everyone is silenced if they try and speck out. They pretend they are taking covid seriously but they are not wearing the PPE and are leaving residents in their rooms most of the time. Its a very toxic set up be warned!
